Biography
When Maggie Gaither was born on February 6, 1872, in Oklahoma, her father, Samuel, was 15. She married M. Dee Whisenhunt on March 5, 1899, in her hometown. They had four children during their marriage. She died on February 26, 1909, in Love, Oklahoma, at the age of 37, and was buried in Marietta, Oklahoma.
Note re: parentage: Her headstone indicates she is the daughter of S. D. & L. E. Gaither but she was born far too early to be Luella's daughter; it is my guess Samuel was married briefly - or fathered a child with - another woman before he married Luella.
