Biography

When Charles Pendleton Gaither[1] was born on May 2, 1883,[2] in Texas, his father, Samuel, was 26 and his mother, Luella, was 18. He married Emma Gertrude Gilliam on September 25, 1904, in Carter, Oklahoma.[3] They had eight children:

  • Gladys (1909–)
  • Redus Charles (1910–1998)[4]
  • Hunter Dickson (1912–2003)
  • Jewell (1913–2007)[5]
  • Luther Edward 'Curley' (1916–2010)[6]
  • Jerrel Washington 'Mutt' (1917–1990)[7][8]
  • William Luther (1919–1960)
  • Dean Pendleton (1921–1959)

Emma died in 1969 and Charles died on April 20, 1972,[9] in Marietta, Oklahoma, at the age of 88, and was buried there.[10]
