Communication Preferences:
I am interested in communicating with
anyone who shares the same genealogical or historical interests.
Here is my family tree.
I have a maternal line, Sarah Jane Webb, that appears in Missouri in the mid-1800s. I'm working to understand how I'm related to the Webb/Breeden/Hurst families of Eastern TN through her. This is based on shared dna matches.
I'm also researching my Walker/Adair line which came through Oklahoma. I have some sketchy evidence that my Adair line may be from Kentucky.
I'd love to review and share information with anyone on those lines.
Randy's ancestry is primarily from England, Scotland, and Ireland with a little Scandinavian, Iberian, and broadly European thrown in for good measure. A couple of companies also think I have a small amount of ancestry from Africa. Listed below are ethnicity estimates of various dna companies. All of these companies tend to have different categories so I list regions and countries separately at times.
George Gardiner - Immigrated from England to Rhode Island around 1638
Horod Long - aka "Herodias", immigrated from London,England to Weymouth, Massachusetts around 1638 with then husband John Hicks. She became an avid Quaker later in life while "married" to George Gardiner.

John Greene - Immigrated from England to Massachusetts in 1635 on the, "James". Moved to Providence, Rhode Island in 1637 due to religious differences. Was one of twelve original founders of the First Baptist Church in Providence.
Henry Howland, Jr - Immigrated from England to Plymouth Colony in 1632/33. Brother of Mayflower passenger John Howland.
Edward Thurston - Immigrated from England to Rhode Island where he is found in 1647 Quaker records to be marrying Elizabeth Mott.

Thank you for your contributions to our 5th place finish in the 2023 Source-a-thon! We couldn't have done it without your participation. I hope to see you back for the next 'thon"!
DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!! Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery has now been completed, every soldier who died as a POW in Camp Chase now has a profile on WikiTree. Plus, we've improved many of the Find-a-Grave memorial pages by finding duplicates, putting in merges, and adding military records to the Biographies. Thank you Randall for all you do for the Challenges and for the US Civil War Project.
Randall Gardner created profiles in August 2023 US Civil War Project Camp Chase Confederate Cemetery Challenge.
First off, thanks for all your help over the past few years I’ve been using Wikitree.
You recently added some details to the Abner Cotter family. Looking over the profiles, I noticed that the Amanda A. Starkey, (who has been said to have married John Henry Cotter), FaG site shows her married to Clarence Oran Cotter and interred with him in Kansas.
I have a feeling that I might have included that source at some point, and don’t want to cause a domino-effect problem. Maybe she remarried? Different Amanda? I know this is a very small twig on your giant oak, but if you have any ideas, please let me know.
I was born in Springfield, MO also, long before you tho.
Regards, Donna
I noticed you had been doing some recent research on the Sarah Jane (Gardner) Hargis (abt.1849-abt.1914) family. Her profile only came under my management through Unknowns Project research. If you would like me to transfer her profile management to you, I would be happy to do so - just let me know.
Hi Randall, I’m still digging around ground already turned over by you and others. I was looking over Benjamin Franklin Squibb and children. One has me stumped— June Squibb, obviously not the actress. The only hint of a similar name and birth date was on “A Jackson Family History: From Henry Jackson of Virginia”. I guess because B.F married Minnie Jackson, they were included with kids, including Benjamin June Squibb. Could it be that the daughter was actually a son? I have seen June as a masc. name.
Thanks for any input
Donna
ps I proposed a merge of one one of your profiles Squibb-452 and Squibb-636. I have explained to the other manager that the parents she has ascribed to JW were born after him. Do you want to get involved?
Thank you for contributing to the January 2022 Sourcerers Challenge! As you know, every source added to an unsourced profile improves our One Tree. Thank you for taking time from your own family history to help others.
According to GEDmatch and Wikitree, we are distant cousins.
I recently started painting my DNA segments using DNA Painter and I’ve only painted about 8% of my chromosomal map.
I was wondering if you have happened to identify your inherited GARDNER or GARDINER segments. I believe we also match through John “The Surgeon” GREENE. Have you identified your GARDNER or GREENE segments?
I compared your GEDmatch Kit Number to mine. Do you think our matching segments link us to John Greene and George Gardiner?
Segment threshold size will be adjusted dynamically between 200 and 400 SNPs
Minimum segment cM to be included in total = 3.0 cM
Mismatch-bunching Limit will be adjusted dynamically to 60 percent of the segment threshold size for any given segment.
Those are really small segments and may not be significant. I do have some Gardner matches. My oldest one is on Chr17, 17 40240064 48187842 8.2 1700 this match is way way back
I also have a Gardner match on Chr 12 that overlaps the region you have listed. The others do not overlap any current matches.
Randal thank you for adding me to trusted list for my grand uncle Edgar Milton Coulter. Hope to collaborate with you more. Like many relatives in common cousin.
Just wanted to check in and see if you're available to help your Team Missouri team mates out for the Source-a-thon. The event runs from Friday Oct. 2 to Monday Oct. 5th. Also, you can put a sticker on your profile You can do so by adding the words Integrators Challenge with the {{ }} in front and back, in your biography.

I remember seeing that I match your uncle and sister. I think I match all 3 of you on AncestryDNA. When I saw your profile here on WT a year or so ago had your GEDmatch kit #, I ran a one-to-one comparison because youre related to John Martin Stidger. Id long wondered if he was the same person as my 2nd great-grandfather John M. Stidger but couldnt prove it as there were a few John Stidger men in the area at the same time. The comparison showed shared DNA and Ive since discovered other matches related to that Stidger family and feel certain they were the same manthanks to you for posting your kit # :).
I got the notification when I was added to your tree in FTDNA.
Your last message mentioned an email or message, but I havent received anything. If you want to collaborate or share info, my user ID on Ancestry is BAJordan76. :)
Youre welcome for the correction on Charles StCharles. Every so often, he gets confused to be a child of William Norman StCharles. Thanks for submitting the correction on Find-a-Grave.
Ive seen the DNA connection we have and that I share it with other members of your family. It seems to come from the Stidger line. When I first got on WT a year or so ago, I tried to message you, but I think I did it incorrectly. Feel free to message me here or on Ancestry.com if youd like to collaborate or share info. :)
The September Challenge will be to complete the Shiloh National Cemetery, if you'd like to join the September Challenge, here's the Challenge Link: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:USCW_Challenge_Worksheet
