Research Notes

Because there are numerous Garretson listed on the same census page for the year 1810 in Latimore Township, Adams, Pennsylvania, one might presume that these are the relatives of Ann Garretson, not the Garretsons of Newbury Township, York, Pennsylvania.[1] Compare this with the1810 census of Newbury Township, York, Pennsylvania.[2]

Ann was born in 1745.[3] She was the daughter of John Garretson and Content Hussey. The records were recorded at the Menallen Monthly Meeting, Adams County, Pennsylvania.[3]

Ann and Willing Griest (1736 - 1819) married September 5, 1764, at York County, Province of Pennsylvania.

Ann Garretson Griest passed away in 1825.[4]

Garretson-290 and Garretson-85 appear to represent the same person because: Same husband. Parentage is correct on Garretson-290.
Jane Carson was the second wife of John Garretson-35. Content Hussey-260 was the first wife of John Garretson-35 and the probable mother of Ann Garretson Griest, born 1845, because Content Hussey did not die until 1847 and Jane Carson married John Garretson in 1749. The parentage of Garretson-85 needs to be corrected.

Ann Garretson-85 needs to be merged with Garretson-290. I will re-urge the merge.

Garretson-290 and Garretson-85 are not ready to be merged because: waiting to resolve father and mother ...
