Biography

John was born about 1690 in either Henrico or Amelia County, Virginia. A number of family trees show his ancestry back many generations, but much more documentation is needed.

John died between 1741 and 1744. His will was dated February 15, 1741/42. One of the merged profiles of John Garrett had a death date May 1744.

Will of John Garrott of Amelia County, Virginia leaves items to the following children:

Son:Charles--plantation and a young horse or mare when Charles reaches the age of twenty one.
Son: John--land and a new gun.
Son: Stephen--land and a young horse or mare when Stephen reaches twenty one.
Son: Abraham--land and a young horse or mare when Abraham turns twenty one. Also 'my' old gun.
Son: Thos--land and a young horse or mare when Thos turns twenty one.
Son: Isaac--plantation.
Dau:Nanney--feather bed with furniture, one cow and calf, one iron pot and two puter dishes.
Dau: Susanah Burton--one cow and calf.

Wife, Susanah, and son, Isaac, sole executors. Isaac Garrott presented the last Will and Testament of John Garrott, deceased, at court held for Amelia county 18 May 1744.

A John and Isaac were signers of a 1785 petition in Buckingham County, Virginia [1]

I have confirmed my DNA just like you showed me already, but it says to list in under Sources. This is what got me mixed up.

Where in the world am I suppose to put my DNA confirmation

1. Elijah is the son of Stephen Garrett DNA confirmed 2. Stephen is the son of John Garrett III [unknown confidence] This makes John the grandfather of Elijah. There is no way everyone can put their DNA confirmation under Sources. What am I doing wrong. Someone needs to make it easier and explain better, (yes, I have read directions a hunderd times) still don't understand. I would like to see someone's profile on how they put the DNA confirmation.
