Garroutte, 70, of Porter died Wednesday, May 18th, in Hillcrest Hospital, Tulsa, of a heart attack. He was a retired farmer and had lived in the Porter area for the past 27 years. Funeral services were held last Friday at 2:30 p. m. in the Free Holiness Church of Porter with Rev. William Ketchum officiating. Surviving him are his wife, Bessie, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Jewel Coursey, Muskogee; Mrs. Myrtle Brown, Muskogee; Mrs. Irene Shepherd, Bixby; six sons, Jay, Bruce and Homer Garroutte,. all of Tulsa; Kenneth, Broken Arrow; Bob, Marcus Hook, Penn, and Edwin Garroutte of Dumas, Texas. Two sisters, Mrs. Ada Fuller, Tahlequah; Mrs. Birtie Merrill, Mulberry, Ark.; .three brothers, Willie Garroutte, Dyer, Ark.; R. H. Ponca City and Anderson Garroutte, Tahlequah; 32 grand children and 13 great grandchildren also survive. His grandsons served as pallbearers and burial was in Porter Cemetery under the direction of the Green Funeral Home, Wagoner.
