1915 Violet is born on 20 Nov in Boonville, Indiana to Samuel and Lula (Kirkpatrick) Gassaway.[1]

1920 Violet is living in Paducah, Kentucky with her parents and six siblings. [2]

1930 Violet is living in her mother's household in Paducah, Kentucky. Her brothers Charles and Foresst are also included on this census listing.[3]

1934 Violet marries Clarence ricketts in February in Muscatine, Iowa.[1]

1979 Violet retires from Thatcher Glass & Plastic Co. in Muscatine, Iowa.[1]

Obituary

Violet Gasaway Ricketts, 88, Moline, formerly of Muscatine, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at Aspenwood Health Care Center, Silvis, Ill. Memorials may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
Mrs. Ricketts was born Nov. 20, 1915, in Boonville, Warrick County, Ind., the daughter of Samuel Bradberry and Lula M. Kirkpatrick Gasaway. She married Clarence Ricketts in February 1934 in Muscatine.
She was employed by pearl button companies in Muscatine as a cutter, sorter and inspector. She also worked for Heinz Co., Muscatine, and later was employed by Thatcher Glass and Plastics, Muscatine, as an assembler and inspector, retiring in April 1979. She was an honorary lifetime member of the International Chemical Workers Union.
She was a past president of Park Place PTA, Muscatine, and was active in the early 1950s in getting the votes and backing to build Madison School. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for many years, before moving to Moline in 1992 to be closer to family members. She enjoyed knitting, shopping, and visiting with friends and relatives. Survivors include three sons, Robert Ricketts and wife Theresa of Geneseo, Ill., Gary Ricketts and wife Laurie of Port Byron, Ill., and Jerry Ricketts and wife Lori of White House, Texas; two daughters, Roberta Callahan of Phoenix, Ariz., and Joyce Goodale of Shawnee, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Everett Eugene Ricketts; a grandson, Ronald E. Ricketts; seven brothers; and five sisters.[1]
