Biography
Mary (Gason) Andrews was born in Ireland.
Mary Gason was born in about 1767 (based on her age at death). She was the daughter of Samuel Gason and Mary Alley.
She married Maunsell Andrews (the son of John Andrews and his second wife, Ann Jones) in 1792 by Licence[1].
Unlikely they had any children.
Mary Andrews probably passed away on 12 July 1793, aged about 25, and was buried at Ballymackey Churchyard in the village of Ballymackey, on the main Nenagh to Toomevera Road. The inscription on her headstone reads:
- Here lie the remains of Mrs. Mary Andrews,
- wife of Maunsell Andrews Esqr of Firmount, in the King's County,
- who lived beloved and died lamented
- in the 25th year of her age, July 12th 1793.
- "Rest mortal earth beneath this marble stone,
- till Angels wake thee to become divine."[2]
