DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Nicholas by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Nicholas:
"Maryland Births and Christenings, 1650-1995," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F4Z2-PR6 : 12 December 2014), Nicholas Gassoway, 06 Feb 1696; citing Anne Arundel County, Maryland; FHL microfilm 13,279.
The spouses of Nicholas Gassaway need to be reviewed - I doubt that he married 2 Sarah Shipleys, and it's unlikely he would have had 4 wives. (Not impossible, though. :-) )
https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Gassaway-128 I'm wondering why these two haven't been merged. Birthdate is 1696 - see below. Citing this Record
