DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:
I was wondering what your opinion of Elizabeth Gates being the daughter of Samuel Gates (1763) and Mary Rowland (1764) was. I haven't found any documentation, but it is an interesting potential connection. I have found a Samuel Gates that was a Revolutionary War soldier. As a result of his service, he was granted land in Georgia.
