Charles Brumfield was born in 1812. He was the son of James Gaulden and Frances Johnson. He passed away in 1853.
"...Lived to manhood and lived on the Gaulden homestead. On account of failing health he went to Tate Springs, Tennessee but was not benefitted. he died and was buried there. He never married.[1]
"DEATH is still busy at his appointed work. -- MR. CHARLES BRUMFIELD GAULDEN, late a citizen of this district, near Ninety-Six, is no more. He died on the 8th inst., of pneumonia, in Washington County, Tennessee, in the 41st year of his age." [2]
