Biography

Martha was allegedly born in 1785, in Prince Edward County, Virginia where her believed parents Jesse Gaulding and Betty Barnett lived. She married her cousin, John Gaulding in Prince Edward County, Virginia on April 14, 1808.[1]

From researcher Bill Gaulding, "She married JOHN "JACK" GAULDING, son of 2.7.2 ARCHIBALD GAULDING (John1 John2 Samuel3) and Unk (GAULDING) (p.210), GAULDING on 14 Apr 1808 in PRINCE EDWARD CO VA. He was born about 1785 in PRINCE EDWARD CO., VA. He died of YELLOW FEVER in 1845 in MOBILE, AL."[2]

  • 1835, Feb: Daughter Emeline’s 4th child, William A. Edwards, born in Talbot Co. Ga. His biography would help tie family together.
  • 1845. Martha (Gauding) Gaulding's husband John Gaulding allegedly dies in Mobile Alabama of Yellow Fever.
