(1944). 21ST BIRTHDAY. ONE of the biggest thrills for Peggy Geappen on her 21st birthday anniversary was a congratulatory cable which arrived on the very day - Friday last-from her fiance, Desmond Mcintee sic, McEntee]], who is a sergeant-pilot with the RAAF in Canada. Less than a week earlier Peggy had received another cable from Desmond telling her he had received his wings. Birthday celebration look the form of a theatre party, followed by supper at the West Hobart home of her parents, the H. T. Geappens.

WEDDING REPORT. Cathedral Bride In Magnolia Lace. St. David's Cathedral, Hobart, was the setting for the marriage last week of Peggy Elizabeth Joy Geappen, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs H. T. Geappen, West Hobart, to Adye Osborne McLeod Douglas, eldest son of Mr G. A. Douglas, Dunalley, and Mrs A. Parkinson, Queenstown. The bride wore a frock of French magnolia lace, cut on crinoline lines with a fully-trained skirt and a tulle yoke. Her tulle veil was caught with orange blossom. The three bridesmaids, Misses Milks Geappen, Beverley Ulbrich, and Patricia Mahoney, wore frocks of heavenly-blue georgette over taffeta made with off-shoulder bodices and crinoline skirts. The best man was Mr P. Douglas, and the groomsmen were Messrs S. Douglas and J. Geappen. The Rev G. Latta officiated, and Messrs R. Carrier and C. Geappen were ushers. A reception for 130 guests was held at the Wentworth, after which the bride left for the honeymoon, to be spent on the East Coast, wearing a blue crepe frock with a draped skirt and a lace yoke. Mr and Mrs Douglas will live at Dynnyrne.
