Funeral services for Herman L. Gentry, 76, of Walnut St., Cookeville, were held last Thursday, October 7, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Rev. Buddy Green and Rev. Critt Holman were the officiating ministers. Burial was in Cookeville City Cemetery. Mr. Gentry died last Tuesday, October 7, 1971, at the Cookeville General Hospital after an extended illness. He was the son of the late Stanton Gentry and Martha McCaleb Gentry, and was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Daisy Gentry of Cookeville, 2 sons, Arvie Gentry of Livonia, MI, Thurman Gentry of Riverview, MI, 2 daughters, Mrs. Marie Hauer of Livonia, MI, Mrs. Bonnie Alvarez, Farmington, MI, 14 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren, 1 sister, Mrs. Gertrude Harris of Cookeville, and 1 stepdaughter, Mrs. Russel Fagg, Cudahy, CA.
