Hi, my nam is Pat (Patricia) German Ditmars. I saw a message from you regarding Henry German. He would have been my great, great, great great grandfather. My father was Francis German. Grand father was Osgood, great grand was Loren German, great great was Stephen and my great great great was Henry. He was married to Rebecca Tallman. I do not know if this is any help to you or not. If I can be of any further help please let me know.

Any leads on how Brinkerhoff-393 might be uncle to -474?

Doug, I just finished doing some work on https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lawson-6013

who married Helena Bogardus. The Lawson family seems to be closely associated so your proposal seems very probable. I get off on these tangents researching the Phillips family which is my main concern at the moment. Thank you for the hint. Cari Yocom

Hi Doug,

I match your GEDmatch kit on a 15.1 cM segment and your mother's kit on a 37.3 cM segment. I think the connection is through John Baptiste Moran / Salina Reandeau for you and through George Lardie (Lardie-8) / Esther Beauchamp (Beauchamp-2122) for me. I haven't had any luck nailing down a specific common ancestor, though.

Douglas, please excuse my error on Shaeffer. I was working on another merge and clicked the wrong set.

Hello from across Wikitree (I manage a 'few' Depew profiles myself, and if you'd like, please subscribe to the "Depew" family edits on here).

I also figured I'd invite you to join 'The Depew Family' facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/289645541197719/ that I (and a few others on here) manage.

I've been working since early 2014 to try to link the Depew/DePew name to anyone earlier than about 1700, and also to see who all the cousins/sons/daughters are (there were a couple early generations of 11 kids each, but I am only of -one- of those links).

I hope this comment finds you well, and look forward to hopefully hearing back from you soon!

Oh Douglas, you were right about those two J. Simons and you were right to reject the merges. What happened was I looked at the dates ( in the birth and death fields ) which were similar. I may add more to them if I find sources so the two do not get confused again.

I admit you could be right. My Adsit history shows that Abigail, daughter of Samuel married a Bullock. The Newman Ward Adsit genealogy could be in error.

It is also possible (slight) that both Abigail's married a Bullock. Either way the Abigail born in 1749, could not be the granddaughter. I will look at the will and do some more research. Thanks.
