William, the son of Nicholas Gibbs, was born in 1812, and married Elizabeth Jane Johnston in Nov 1832.[1] Before her death, Apr 1844, they had four children. The eldest daughter, Ellen, married Elbert Ellis. [2]
He then married Martha Harris (1816-1875), eleventh child of Simon Harris. Their children are: Martha Ellen, Mary H, Pleasant Gaines, Rachel Elizabeth, William Burris, Nancy C, Laura L, Maria P, Orville Samuel,
William was a member of the Beaver Creek Presbyterian Church until he passed away in 1888 [3]
