Charles "Charlie" Frederic Gibbs (nickname was Nobby) was born Sunday January 6, 1935 in Stowe, Lamoille county, Vermont. Charlie shares the same birthday as his brother William Lionel Gibbs. He was the son of Rev. John Charles Gibbs and Lottie Pearl (Green) Barrett. In 1940 Charlie lived in Jericho, Chittenden, Vermont with his parents & siblings at the age of 5. He married Mildred Chambers Gibbs (unknown date). Together they had 4 known children. Charles “Charlie” Frederic Gibbs died of a heart attack at the age of 33 while serving with the US Air Force on July 8, 1968 while stationed at Torrejón Air Base in Sonseca, Provincia de Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain.
