Gustave Frederick Gigler was born on 30 Jun 1890 in Queensland, Australia. He was the son of Frederick William Gigler and Annie Minnie (Albrecht) Gigler. [1]
He married Margaretha Dorothea Schafferius on 11 Mar 1915 in the Lutheran Church in Plainland. The witnesses to their marriage were Anne Gigler and Gottfried Schafferius. Gustave and Margaretha were known as Gus and Mary. [2]
Gus and Mary moved to Manyung near Murgon in 1917 and worked on a dairy farm. They lived there until about 1929 when they moved to Reedy Creek near Kingaroy. They worked at Share Farming for a few years but went back to Manyung.
Gus, Len and Cyril worked in the timber industries at Miva. It was during this time that Mary died. She is buried in the Maryborough Cemetery.
In latter years Gus, Len and Cyril worked at Manumbar Mill. Gus worked in the sawmill until he was 65. He then retired to Hervey Bay and lived there until he died. [3]
Gustave Frederick Gigler died on 12 Sep 1967 and is buried next to Mary in the Maryborough Cemetery, Queensland, Australia. [4] [5]
