Samuel M. Giles, son of Matthew and Rebecca Giles, was born on 7 March 1833 in Tennessee, USA.[1]
He was a farmer when he appeared on the census of 21 Sep. 1850 in the home of his parents at Marshall County, Tennessee.[2][3]
He married Miron Drusilla Preslar on 5 Feb. 1857 at Marshall County, Tennessee.[4]
He was a farmer when he and Miron appeared on the census of 19 June 1860 at Marshall County, Tennessee.[5] He was a farmer when he and Miron appeared on the census of 30 July 1870 at Marshall County, Tennessee.[6] He was a farmer and blacksmith when he and Miron appeared on the census of 21 June 1880 at Marshall County, Tennessee.[7]
Samuel died on 19 Dec. 1910 at Wilhoite Mills, Marshall County, Tennessee and was buried at Swanson Cemetery, Chapel Hill, Marshall County, Tennessee. His memorial has a photo of his headstone, a transcription of his obituary and links to those of family members.[1]
