Biography

Samuel Gilkey was born around August 28, 1798[1][2][3] in Bourbon County, Kentucky to Robert Gilkey and Sarah Simmons Kercheval Gilkey.

According to some accounts, he was married to a Sarah Warden (1800-1835) in which he had his first children.[citation needed]

On 20 Sep 1838 he was married to Elizabeth O. Switzer in Montgomery County, Indiana, USA.[4]

He was enumerated in the 1840[1] and 1850[2] US Censuses in Ripley, Montgomery County, Indiana.

He died on the 29th of August, 1855, according to his grave marker, in Montgomery County, Indiana, USA.[3]
