John was born in 1812 in Virginia (very likely Augusta County). He died in 1878 in Indiana (likely in Orange County). He married first Elizabeth Winetear, and then Adeline Marlett, and had at least 13 children in total.
Research Notes
Like his father, no immediately obvious source specifies his middle name as Henry, though the abstract of his marriage record cited below does give him the middle initial "H." If any primary source including a middle name can be found, please cite it here. - Daniel M. Culp, 17 Jul 2023.
