Biography
Marie Modeste Girouard was born in October of 1762 or 1763 in Acadia. She was 5 years old when she was baptized 20 July 1768 at Halifax.[1] In 1763, Jean-Baptiste, Madeleine and their children Marie, François, Joseph and infant Modeste were on a list of prisoners at Fort Cumberland (Beauséjour).[2]
She married Cyprien Pierre Duon, an Acadian born in France, around 1788, possibly in Nova Scotia, where at least one son, [[Duon-117|Pierre], may have been born in 1791.
She died around 1800.
