Biography

Funeral services for Frank Marion Godsey, 81, of Crab Orchard, who passed away Jan. 27, 1999, were held Jan. 29 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Haley's Grove Cemetery. He was born Dec. 28, 1917 in Rhea County, TN, the son of Alex and Florence Cox Godsey. Mr. Godsey was a rock quarry worker, and he was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Daniels Godsey of Crab Orchard; daughters, Imogene Hoskins and Geraldine Hackler, both of Knoxville, TN; and Christine Cox, Louise Cox, Patsy Barnes, Peggy Back and Diane Hale, all of Crab Orchard; sons, Joe, Bobby, Rickie and Tommy Godsey, all of Crab Orchard, Pete Godsey of Ozone, and Raymond Godsey of the Peavine community; 42 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Pearl Reed of Grandview and Anna Mae Reed of Spring City, TN. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Glenda Gunter and Brenda Kay Godsey. Pallbearers were Corky Cox, Scott Godsey, Donald Moore, Louie Cox, Tinker Godsey and Newt Cox. Bro. Dennis Lovell officiated.
