Was in the Civil War 31st Va co. K Enlisted 6/22/61.at Laurel Hill Strum. 1 year. MIA at Laural Hill 7/13/61 Was in the same Co. as his nephew Robert S. Godwin. Along with his other nephew Jacob Godwin and his son Reubin H Godwin which died due to his wounds. Lived in Godwin Hollow. (W)VA
