SARAH GOLDSTONE was born in 1602 in Hadlow, Kent, England to John Goldstone and Francis Thompson

"JOHN GOLDSTONE married Frances Thompson. He died and she married Thomas Diker of Tonbridge.
The children of John and Frances Goldstone were :
1 Robert, probably never married, as his will does not mention wife or children.
2 Roger.
3 Jane, m. 1st, Benjamin Johnson ; 2d, Thomas Howe.
4 Sara, m. Joseph 2 , son of William 1 and Sarah (Diker) Merriam.
5 Elizabeth, m. Thomas Dan of Tewdly, England." [1]

Marriages

Sarah married 1st Joseph Merriam in about 1623 in Tudeley, Kent. The couple had six children in England before emigrating to Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1638. A seventh child was born six months after his father's death on 1 January 1641.

Sarah married 2nd likely shortly after 20 October 1642 (probate on Joseph Merriam's will; her 1st known Wheeler child was born 20 September 1643) with Lt. Joseph Wheeler (his 1st wife Elizabeth having died at Concord 19 July 1642). They had two children together. She died on March 12, 1669, in Concord, Massachusetts, at the age of 67, and was buried there.

Sarah's children with Joseph Merriam, all but youngest likely born at TRudeley, Co. Kent, were listed in her brother Robert's will of 10 April 1637 as:[2]

  3. Joseph Merriam, b. say 1628, d. Apr. 20, 1677
  4. Thomas Merriam, b. say 1630.
  5. Elizabeth Merriam, b. say 1632, m. Thomas Henchman d. 1705
  6. Hannah Merriam, b. say 1634, likely died before 1 Jan. 1640/4; see her profile].
  7. John b. Cocnord 9 July 1641 (after the death of his father).

Sarah's children with Joseph Wheeler were:[3]

  1. Mary Wheeler, b. Sept. 20, 1643
  2. Rebecca Wheeler, b Sept. 6, 1645

Brother's Will

Will of Brother Robert Goldston of Tonbridge dated 10 April 1637, proved 16 May:
"To Sara the wife of Joseph Merryam of Tewdly, Clothier, my sister, 10 shillings
To Hannah Mirriam, my goddaughter, the daughter of the said Joseph one paire of fine sheets
I give and bequeth unto Willia, Sara Joseph Thomas Elizabeth and Hannah, the six children of the said Joseph Mirriam by the said Sara, his now wife to ether of them the like some of Six pound apeece to be paid them likewise within five yeares next after my decease."[4]

The bio says her mother was Frances Jefferie, which the bio of her listed mother, Frances Thompson, says has been disproven. Please correct.
