"Happy 150th anniversary to my great-grandparents, Levi Clark and Sarah Goodall Pratt. They were married this date in 1865 in Morgan CO IL. She was 20 and he was 27. They lived in that area until about 1880 when they came to Ringgold CO IA in a covered wagon with their 5 daughters including the youngest, a baby, my Grandma Anna Pratt Lay. Their 2 sons were born in Ringgold CO. Levi, a teacher and farmer, had met some men who converted him to the Advent Christian faith and recommended the move. Sarah and Levi lived south of Mt Ayr near Waterson and were some of the earliest members of Hickory Grove Church. They had 41 years together before Levi's death in Aug of 1906. Sarah would live nearly another 28 years." by great-granddaughter Mary Lay Stephenson "Sarah Goodall Pratt, was born on this date in 1844 to William and Jane Hodgson Goodall. The 4th of her 10 siblings born between 1838 and 1859, she was the 2nd oldest of 4 sisters. All her siblings reached adulthood except for 1 sister. Her parents were immigrants from England who had settled in Jacksonville, Morgan, Illinois where she was born and grew up. On 12 Mar 1865 she married Levi Pratt a schoolteacher. They remained in Illinois until moving to Ringgold Co Iowa in 1880. They were then the parents of 5 daughters. After settling south of Mt Ayr they added two sons to the family. Levi died in 1906 leaving Sarah with two unmarried children who would soon marry. Sarah made her home for a while with youngest daughter, Anna Pratt Lay, and her family. Dad had many fond memories of her. Later she moved to Mt Ayr where several of her grandchildren would stay with her while they were attending high school. She died 23 Jul 1934 just months short of her 90th birthday. A letter I found refers to her as a beautiful woman." by Mary Lay-Stephenson
