Sergeant Michael Goodrich served with Colonel Charles Burrall's Regiment (1776), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

"Settled in Sharon on a farm; enlisted in the spring of 1775, in the war of the Revolution in Capt. Samuel Elmore's company and Col. Hinman's regiment; served for 10 months; in February, 1776, he again enlisted for one year, at Sharon, in Capt. Oliver Parmalee's company and Col. Charles Burrill's regiment; was discharged Nov. 27, 1776 at Fort George, located at the south end of Lake George; he was called out as one of the militia on alarms; was in the engagement when Danbury, Conn., was burned; joined in the pursuit of the enemy as they retreated to their vessels, lying off the mouth of the Housatonic; was also present at the surrender of Burgoyne at Saratoga; when he removed to Delaware County, N.Y., is not positively known, but believed to be about 1787; he died at Walton, N.Y.".
