Biography

On 14 April 1870 Lydia F. Goodrich was born in Dayton, Yamhill County, Oregon to Carmi Goodrich Jr. and Melissa Matheny.

She and her family lived there until approximately 1877 when they moved to Columbia County, Washington.

Lydia Francis Liddie's father Carmi passed away in 1884 in Columbia County, Washington, at the age of 46.

On 03 Nov 1887 she married Samuel Jackson Edwards in Columbia, Washington. They were married by the Justice of the Peace at the house of Mrs. Goodrich, Witnesses C.M. Beckett and D. Moore. Washington was not yet a state. The marriage certificate says Washington Territory.

Her daughter Cora Belle Edwards was born on July 23, 1893, in Washington.

Her daughter Mabel Anna was born on June 22, 1895, in Columbia County, Washington.

Her son Arley Leroy was born on October 7, 1898, in Washington.

Her daughter Melia was born on January 4, 1902, in Washington.

Her daughter Stella May was born on September 15, 1910, in Washington.

In 1910 Lydia and Samuel moved the family to Coeur d'Alene Indian Reservation, Kootenai County, Idaho where they rented a farm and worked as tenant farmers.

Her daughter Cora Belle Edwards passed away on November 12, 1918, in Asotin, Washington, at the age of 25.

Lydia Francis Liddie's mother Melissa passed away on February 3, 1920, in Marshall, Washington, at the age of 71.

In 1920 they moved to Tensed, Benewah County, Idaho where they rented a farm and remained for the rest of their lives.

Her husband Samuel Jackson passed away on March 11, 1932, in Benewah, Idaho, at the age of 70. They had been married 44 years.

On 17 Dec 1936 Lydia passed away in St. Maries, Benewah County, Idaho and was buried in Tekoa, Whitman County, Washington with her husband.
