Lucinda's name is spelled "Lucendy" in the book, "Vital Records of Mount Desert Island Maine and Nearby Islands 1776-1820"[2] This book is rife with misspellings, and can't be relied on in this respect. It has caused a little confusion as her gravestone spells her name as "Lucinda" and her father, in his will, spelled it "Lusinda".[3] Her father would have known how her name was pronounced and, even though his spelling and the spelling on her gravestone don't match, both have the same pronunciation. For these reasons, I believe "Lucinda" is the most accurate spelling. Scafidi-49 16:15, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
