Biography

The name Gould, from whom the families of Leeds and other New England towns have descended, is first found in what is now Saco, Me. In 1725, three English brother, Pelatiah, William and Simeon came out to the wilds of America. Soon after their arrival in this country Simeon died; William went to Ohio, where he settled and reared a family; Pelatiah settled in Saco, and from him the Gould of Leeds trace their line of ancestors. [1]

William was born in 1715. He passed away in 1751.
