Henrietta Williams Graves was born on 17 April 1799 in Caswell County, North Carolina, United States to General Azariah Graves (1768-1850) and Elizabeth Williams, called Betsy, (1773-1841).

Marriage and Family

She married Judge Thomas Settle (1789-1857) on 18 September 1820 in Caswell County, North Carolina.

  1. Henrietta Settle was born on 7 October 1824 in Madison, Rockingham, North Carolina, United States. She married Governor David Settle Reid (1813-1891) on 12 December 1850 in Rockingham County, North Carolina. Henrietta died on 2 March 1913 in Reidsville, Rockingham, North Carolina, United States.
  2. Caroline L. Settle was born on 26 April 1827 in Rockingham County, North Carolina, United States. She married Hugh Kearns Reid (1817-1889) on 23 July 1866 in Rockingham County, North Carolina. Caroline died on 4 March 1905 in Greensboro, Guilford, North Carolina, United States.
  3. Capt. Thomas Settle Jr., also Judge, was born on 23 January 1831 in Rockingham County, North Carolina, United States. He married Mary Anna Glen (1840-1895) on 26 May 1859 at Rockingham County, North Carolina. Judge Settle died on 1 December 1888 in Greensboro, Guilford, North Carolina, United States.
  4. Frances K. Settle, called Fannie, was born on 11 November 1836 in North Carolina, United States. She married 1) Col. John Wall Covington (1819-1858) on 16 November 1854 in Rockingham County, North Carolina and 2) Col. Oliver Hart Dockery (1830-1906) on 3 January 1871 in New Hanover County, North Carolina. Fannie died on 8 March 1894 in Mangum, Richmond, North Carolina, United States.
  5. Rebecca W. Settle was born c. 1838 in Reidsville, Rockingham, North Carolina, United States. She died on 24 February 1853 in Raleigh, Wake, North Carolina, United States.
  6. David A. Settle was born on 7 November 1839 at Reidsville, Rockingham, North Carolina, United States. He died on 20 July 1906 in Reidsville, Rockingham, North Carolina, United States.
