Research Notes
The Marriage Bond is from North Carolina, image attached states, "Benjamin Greer Esq. & Sarah Jones
(NOTE FROM RALPH TERRY: I feel the information presented by some researchers for this Benjamin Greer, son of William Greer, may pertain to Benjamin Greer, uncle of this Benjamin Greer and visa versa.)
dar.org does not have a "Benjamin Greer" listed as signing the Oath in Virginia, maybe his document was not presented, there is however, a Capt. Benjamin Grier, b: 1746 in Wilkes, North Carolina........
THIS IS the data that has been brought into question? AS this being the WRONG Benjamin GREER..........
Note: where his name appears as: "Benjamin Greer, from George II, 90 acres of land, 0-10-0, on Gill's Creek in Bedford County, Virginia, in joint ownership with John Greer, February 14, 1761." (COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA LAND PATENTS, by Nugent, P.B. #34, folio 884.)
We need to find more than one Benjamin Greer, who lived in Virginia....... during the 1740 thru the 1790 period in question.
There is no f-a-g for this Benjamin ....The other Benjamin is brother to this Benjamin's father...
For research until we determine that THIS Benjamin GREER is not the one that moved to North Carolina 1791.............. copy attached

Greer-871 and Greer-2069 are not ready to be merged because: Misty and I, and whoever else we can get to SEARCH will try to find SOURCES for William Sr/mary Ann Fitch's son Benjamin.......actually not only the son Benjamin but there are 2 other children that need to be proven, John for one and the other is the daughter, Mary Rebecca. If we can locate some Parish records of the births, or maybe his will that names his children would do the job.
