Elizabeth Greystoke was born 10 July 1471 at Morpeth, Northumberland, and baptised there the same day, it says here.
She was the daughter of Sir Robert Greystoke, whoever he was, by Lady Elizabeth Grey, daughter and grand-daughter of Earls. She brought the Greystock inheritance, according to Clay, and was therefore a prize catch.
James Wilson further opines that at the tender age of 13 the young heiress was "in true Border fashion... carried off in the night from Brougham Castle by Sir Thomas Dacre..."
She married Sir Thomas Dacre, 3rd Lord Dacre of the North.
They had 2 sons,
William, 4th Lord
Humphrey
and 6 daughters
Mary, wife of Sir Francis Talbot, 5th Earl of Shrewsbury
Anne, wife of Sir Christopher Conyers, 2nd Lord Conyers (ancestors of Philip and Thomas Nelson)
Jane, wife of Lord Tailboys, who didn't have a name
Mabel, wife of Henry Scrope, 7th Lord Scrope of Bolton, not to be confused with Scrope of anywhere else
Philip, or Philippe if Philip looks too odd
Jane, again
Presumably Elizabeth was not the mother of Sir Thomas's bastard son, Sir Thomas.
Elizabeth died on 14th August 1516 and was buried at Lanercost Priory. She was survived by her husband, who fell off his horse and his perch in 1525.
