Ellen Leiby
I haven't checked yet, but perhaps this is the connection between the Griest and the Milhous family. Milhous is the maiden name of President Nixon's mother Hannah, and I think they were from Indiana. Of course, Hannah Milhous Nixon ended up in Whittier, CA, too.
