Mary (Hairsine) Fox was born in Blacktoft, Yorkshire, England.

Mary was born on 2 September 1809 at Oxmardyke in the parish of Blacktoft, Yorkshire, England, and was baptised in the parish church at South Cave, Yorkshire, the following month. She was the daughter of Charles Hairsine and Mary Shipley.[1]

The Hairsine family emigrated to Canada about 1818. They settled on Lot 231 in Mersea Township, part of Colonel Talbot's grant.[2]

Mary married George M Fox on 8 November 1828. The family lived in Gosfield, Essex, Ontario.[3][4][5][6]

Mary died on 5 November 1895 in Essex, Ontario, Canada[7] and was buried in Kingsville, Essex county.[8]
