Coleman was married to Eleanor (or Elender) Renfro on 20 Sep 1805 in Garrard, Kentucky.

and were in Rockcastle County in 1830.

Sometime before 1840, Coleman and Eleanor (called Nelly), moved to Missouri, first in Marion, Monroe County,

and then Boone County, where they lived at the time of his death.

His widow was made the administrator of his estate on 8 Nov 1844,

and his will names her and 11 others (presumably their children) as heirs: Ellen Haley, wid.; Wm. Haley, Green Haley, John Haley, Sarah Haley, & Ellener Haley of Boone County, Missouri; Elizabeth Pollard of Platte County, Missouri; Turpin Haley, of Kentucky; Hamilton Haley, Rhody Turner & Patsy Adams of Randolph County, Missouri; Polly Bates of Monroe County, Missouri.
