Birth

Oliver Halstead was the son of Lawrence and Hester Halstead. [1]


Oliver Halsted was born in about 1509 in the hamlet of Rowley in the Township of Worsthorne-with-Hurstwood in the ancient parish of Whalley, Lancashire, England. He was assumed first child of Lawrence Halsted and Jenet Halsted. [2]

Abt. 1560. 1st Child's Marriage: Unknown name daughter was married to Barnard Hartley. Barnard was mentioned in Oliver's Will as Oliver's son in law.

18 Apr 1566 3rd Child's Marriage "Anno dni; 1566: Ao ?? RRne Eliza: octavo Henry Nutter Alice Halsted} mar[ried] the xviij th day of Aprill" [15] But in the Oliver's Will it mentioned that Henry Mitton and his wife Alison (Oliver's daughter) are the same potential persons as above.

17 Nov 1567 2nd Child's Marriage "Anno dni 1567: Ao ? RRne. Elizab: 9no: Edward Rob[er]teshay Issabell Halsted} mar[ried] the xvij th day of Novemb[e]r" [16]

18 Apr 1570 3rd Child's re-marriage "Anno dni: 1570: Ao ?? RRne Elizab: 12o; Henry Nutter Alice Halsted} mar[ried] the xviijth day of Aprill" [17]

4 Jun 1573 5th Child's Marriage "Anno dni: 1573 Ao RRne Elizabe: 15o. Edmunde Tattersall Jenett Halstede } mar [ried] the iiij th day of June" [18]. Edmund was mentioned in Oliver's Will as Oliver's son in law.

10 Mar 1576/7 2nd Child's Burial Issabell Roberteshay was buried at St. Peter's Chapelyard, Burnley, Lancashire. [19]

12 Aug 1578 6th Child's Marriage "Ao dni; 1578. Ao RRne Eiza: 20: Will[ia]m Halsted Anne Parker} mar[ried] ye xij th day of Auguste" [20]

He made his will dated on 14 July 1582. [21]

His wife, Anne was buried on 18 July 1582 in the St. Peter's Chapelyard, Burnley, Lancashire. [22]

He died in Rowley, Worsthorne, Whalley, Lancashire, England in 1582 and was buried on 12 November 1582.

His Burial "Burialls: 1582. Ollyv[e]r Halsted sepult[us] The xij th day of Novemb[e]r"[23]
