I have just found James’ brother - William Harman’s - 1877 WILL. It had a couple of surprises in it. Two of William’s daughters we had hooked to the wrong parents. I have corrected them here on WikiTree but Ancestry is another thing.
Ann Harman b1819 md Peter Fleury (had Adam as her father)

From book, “A Harman History: Henry & Esther Harman and Their Descendants,” compiled by Marie Svedahl, 1992, printed by Printing & Duplicating Services, U of R, Regina, Sask. P611 for more info on this family.
Source of birth dates for the children of Henry and Esther Herrman/Harman was a book we call “Anna Roger’s Birthday Book.” The fly leaf and other blank pages of a text book published in 1850 were used by Anna Rogers [1825-1908] a granddaughter of Henry and Esther, to record various bits of family information. Of prime interest was a list of Henry and Esther’s children with their birth dates. Unfortunately no birth places were listed.

In 1804 John Minthorn had obtained the Crown grant. Since this lot bordered a sideroad, division of the property did not have to occur in the usual north/south or east/west halves. In 1824 Isaac Webb owned 40 acres on the Yonge Street side. Joseph Fleury acquired 30 acres on the west side at Bathurst, leaving the middle 140 acres to James Harman. The land was further subdivided when Harman sold his easterly 15 acres to John Bowley and 10 acres to Joseph Hughey. This multiple east/west division of the lot was only possible because the various owners had access off the sideroad.
