From Find a Grave: "He was the son of John William Harper, Sr and Susannah North. He was the first person to be buried in Friendship Cemetery. He had 3 sons and 4 daughters. One son died fighting in Confederate Army. His wife was Moriam Mariah Stephens. Their graves are beautiful after being totally redone by their great, great, great, grandson Willie Butts with donations from other descendants, but he did all the work. He was also the gr,gr,gr, grandfather of the writer, and many, many others. He was an exceptional man and husband and father by all accounts. "
