It is announced in the "Commonwealth Government Gazette" of the 12th instant that Mr. E. G. S. R. Harries, despatching officer at the Longreach Post Office, has been appointed despatching officer of the mail branch in the place of Mr. E. Lough- ran, promoted.
Edward died on 29 June 1944 in Brisbane[4] and was interred in Toowong Cemetery, Por 2A, Sect 27, #9-10.[5]
