Biography

Byron Harter was of the opinion that Christian was married in Bedford County, PA. I am now certain that the family was never in Bedford County. I have been unable to find the source of this assumption, so have no idea why it was proposed. I have found a record of Christian's parents' marriage and his birth in Lehigh County church records.

While I have not found a record of his marriage, I am certain that he married in MD. This is on the basis of: a) He took Holy Communion with his parents and brother, Jn. George II, in Frederick Co., MD on 24 Sept. 1769, indicating that he had moved there with the family by that time. b) There is no evidence that Henry and Elizabeth (Beigler) Eller ever lived in PA - they were married in Frederick Co., MD and apparently lived there at least until 1793 when Elizabeth died.
