He was born on 06 May 1729 at Lahaska, Bucks County, Pennsylvania and his parents were Elizabeth (Paxson) and Thomas Hartley.

Thomas Hartley first married on 28 Feb 1765 in Salem County, New Jersey to Susannah Hewes [1] (1741-1771).

Thomas Hartley married secondly on 30 Oct 1771 at Lower Penns Neck, Salem County, New Jersey to Catherine Townsend [2] (1746-1776).

Thomas Hartley married thirdly about 1776 to an Esther (of unknown maiden surname).

He passed away on about 1786 in Elsinboro Township, Salem, New Jersey, USA.
