Barbara was born Aug. 8, 1925, to the late George Edgar Hartsell and Josephine (Todd) Hartsell, at Tonkawa, Okla. She departed this life Thursday, March 3, 2016, in Muskogee, Okla.
Barbara was raised in Wilson, attending Wilson High School and was a member of First Baptist Church. She soon joined the war effort after graduation as a nurse’s aid at Fort Hood, Texas, where she met her first husband, Alex Kallay. They were married in 1945, living in Wichita Falls, Texas, before moving to Tulsa in the early 1950s. Barbara worked for Army Corp of Engineers and Social Security Administration for a total of 35 years before retiring in Tulsa in the late 1980s. After her divorce from Alex Kallay in 1969, she later married the late Anthony P. Gannon in 1978. She remained in Tulsa until her demise. She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa for over 40 years.
Preceding her in death was her parents; husband, Anthony P. Gannon in 1998; and one brother, G.E. Hartsell.
