Marriage
Jameston was married twice. By his first wife (unknown) he had a son, William. He then married, in about 1775, the widow Sarah Hay who had three children by her first husband (Chaney), all of whom were renamed as Hatcher. Jameston and Sarah then had 5 children together.
Jameston, Jr., was born in Henrico County, VA, and was probably in a part of Henrico which was assigned to Chesterfield County when that county was created in 1749. He was in Greenville County, SC by 1772. He was a patriot on the side of the United States during the Revolutionary War. By 1781, Jameston was taxed in Washington County, TN. But by 1790, Jameston was found in Buncombe County, NC. He remained in Buncombe County until at least 1811, but by 1817 he is found in Blount County, TN as a poor person being kept by the county.
