Biography

Ledoit Burton Haughn was born to William Haughn Mahala Lacey 5 JULY 1873 • Cumberland County, Illinois, USA.

On 11/22/1894 • Lyon County, Kansas, USA he married Julia Olive Williams, daughter of Henry Williams Frances Goodwin, They had three daughters, Gracie Lee Haughn, Lettie Marie Haughn and Minnie Olive Haughn.

Julia passed away 26 Apr 1903 • Elgin, Chautauqua, Kansas, USA, leaving him three young daughters to raise. Julia's sister , Emma Jane Williams Brisco, Emma Williams , sent her oldest daughter, MayBelle Brisco , MayBelle Brisco to live with Ledoit to help raise his daughters.

Eventually Ledoit and MayBelle fell in love and married having seven more children.

Ledoit Haughn worked for the railroad in Elgin, Kansas and eventually moved to Niotaze, Kansas where he is buried with his wife, MayBelle (Brisco) Haughn.
