Mary was born on 31 October 1856 in Tippah, Mississippi, USA. She was the daughter of Thomas Hawthorn and Mary Ann (Richey) Hawthorne.

When Mary was about 20 she married John Ellis Robison in 1877 in Tippah, Mississippi, USA. The couple had 2 children: Mary Adaline Robison and Hugh Hawthorne Robison.

Mary died at the age of 40 on 23 April 1897 at an unknown location.

Mary was buried after 23 April 1897 in Old Bethany Cemetery, Baldwyn, Lee County, Mississippi, USA.[1]
