Lucinda was born in May 1838 in South Carolina, USA. She was the daughter of Jacob Hayes and Margaret Elizabeth (Blakely) Hayes.

In 1880 Census Matilda was living with her sister Millie Hayes Hopkins in Marshall, AL,
Lucinda married James H Brumbalow on 30 December 1884 in Marshall, Alabama, United States.[1]
Widowed in 1900 and living with Sanford (brother).
Lucinda died at the age of about 96 in 1935 in Texas, USA.
