Michel Hebert was born in 1666 in Port-Royal, Acadie, Nouvelle-France, son of Étienne Hébert (abt. 1629–abt. 1671) and Marie Gaudet (abt. 1633–1710).[1]
In 1686, at Port Royal, Michel, aged 20, was living with his stepfather, Dominique GARAULT [sic], aged 60, his mother, Marie GODET [sic], his step sister, Elarie [recte Marie] Garault [sic], aged 9, and his brother, Antoine, aged 16. Michel and Antoine were the children of his mother and her first husband, Emanuel [recte Etienne] HEBERT. The family lived on 3 arpents of cultivable land with 4 sheep and 4 hogs.[4]

He died 19 Jan 1736 in Grand Pré, Acadia, aged about 69 years,[1]and was buried 20 Jan 1736 in Grand Pré.[9][10]
