Matilda was born in 1834. She was the daughter of John Hellings and Mary Crawford.
She married Rev. David Spencer (1839–1924). They had a son:
John Arlington Spencer (1863–1932).
She passed away in 1901. Burial: Leverington Cemetery, Roxborough, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, USA.
