Biography

Homer Maddox Helms was born 2 Aug 1911 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.[1][2]

Homer Helms is a Military Veteran.
Served in the United States Army 1943-1945
Battles and campaigns: Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes
At the time he registered for the WWII Draft in 1940, he was 29 years old and working for the Drexel Furniture Company in Morganton, Burke County, North Carolina. He listed his sister, Mrs. Eunice Helms Hagler of Concord, Cabarrus County, North Carolina, as the person who would always know his address.[2] He served with Battery A, 377th Field Artillery Battalion.

Homer lived in California and died less than a week after the 1971 San Fernando Earthquake.[3]
